The program begins with a pre-conference activity day featuring workshops, seminars, and the National Geospatial Roundtable, a forum for community-driven dialogue among leaders. The following days will include a bustling tradeshow, the Canada Map & Poster Gallery, inspiring plenary sessions, and a lively networking reception to foster collaboration.

Luc Vaillancourt to Serve on the 2026 GeoIgnite Advisory Committee

For the 2026 edition, Luc Vaillancourt has been announced as a member of the nine-person GeoIgnite Advisory Committee, assembled by Jonathan Murphy, CEO of GoGeomatics Canada. Luc joins seven other distinguished experts, each bringing unique perspectives and expertise to help shape the conference’s direction.

In addition to providing a broad overview of the geospatial industry, Luc will contribute a Quebec market perspective and a francophone point of view. This approach may influence the program and highlight Quebec’s vibrant geospatial community, while fostering connections with France and other French-speaking regions.

The committee’s collective goal is to ensure that GeoIgnite 2026 remains at the forefront of Canada’s geospatial, space, and digital innovation landscape, driving meaningful dialogue and impactful outcomes for all participants.

The Arctic, Focus and Innovation at GeoIgnite 2026

This year’s theme, “The Arctic,” reflects Canada’s urgent priorities in security, climate resilience, and collaboration with Indigenous communities. As the Arctic faces accelerating climate change and growing global interest, GeoIgnite 2026 will spotlight the critical role of geospatial technologies in supporting sovereignty, environmental monitoring, and infrastructure planning.

Attendees can look forward to sessions on:

  • GEOINT & Arctic Security
  • Earth Observation for Climate Resilience
  • Infrastructure & Digital Twins
  • Hydrospatial Mapping of Arctic Waters
  • Indigenous Data Sovereignty & Collaboration

These tracks are designed to inspire new ideas and strategies, driving national resilience and modern infrastructure for Canada’s evolving geomatics sector.
